Have the smile you always wanted

On some occasions, there is a limit to what can be achieved with simple cosmetic options. If this still proves to not fulfil the wishes of a patient, we can assess the existing smile and the patient’s wishes by completing a smile design session. This includes taking models, photographs and assessing various features liked and disliked. From this we would aim to prepare a set of diagnostic models to present to the patient with what can be achieved. Often this is needed to eliminate false expectations and to give an indication of the aim of the proposed treatment.
“Full smile makeovers require appropriate planning to achieve the best results”
Often teeth are rotated, twisted or tilted, and minimal intervention may improve the appearance, but may not produce the most desirable result. In these cases, performing mild reductions to the teeth and treating with veneers and crowns allows the dentist to change the shape, size and shade of the teeth to give the patient what they have always wanted. Though this avenue is more costly, it is a more definitive approach with predictable results. The smile which patient’s may have initially thought escapes their capacity, may actually be achievable.

Brighter whiter smile in no time!

Instant whiteningTeeth can be restored to their natural colour or enhanced by tooth whitening. At our practice we offer two main treatment options and several different systems to achieve the desired result. For the busy individual or someone wanting an instant result, power whitening can be carried out in surgery, using Zoom2! Chairside Whitening System, as seen on the popular Extreme Makeover TV programme. This treatment can be completed in as little as 45 to 60 minutes, producing literally an instant result! Power whitening may be used on it’s own or can be used to enhance the results of a smile makeover, realignment of teeth or facial aesthetic treatment.

Tray whiteningThe alternative is a take-home whitening system. Impressions are taken to fabricate a custom-whitening tray to fit your mouth. A small amount of whitening gel is placed in the tray and this is then worn overnight. After just one to two weeks your teeth will gradually lighten. Again, when prescribed by a dentist, this procedure is safe, very effective and can produce excellent results. Our cosmetic dentist will advise and help to choose for you the best method to achieve your best result.

Create your perfect smile by reshaping and closing gaps between teeth.

If your front teeth are stained, chipped, or malaligned, veneers will give you a good life-like appearance with minimum tooth adjustment. A veneer is a facing on the front of your teeth usually your top teeth, it is just like a false finger nail.
Veneers are made out of porcelain and are used mainly for aesthetic reasons. Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy, and because they are very thin and are held in place by a special strong bond (rather like super-glue) very little preparation of the tooth is needed.
Porcelain veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of teeth. A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured or stained tooth or to lighten front teeth (usually the upper ones) generally.
Veneers can also be used to close small gaps, when orthodontics (braces) are not suitable. If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it into line with the others.

Inman Aligner

Straightening teeth the quick and easy way with “invisible braces”

inmanDid you once spend years undergoing painful orthodontic treatment and unsightly braces only to see your teeth slowly slip back to their former wonky ways? Are you one of many who are generally unhappy with the alignment of your teeth and longing for a beautiful, straight smile?
Until now, the alternatives to straighten front teeth involved either expensive and long orthodontic treatments or destructive and expensive restorative treatments such as veneers or crowns. Even ultrathin veneers involve heavy reduction of natural teeth when used to align crowding or protrusion.
Dr Fayaz Ladak is proud to introduce a new and leading edge cosmetic dentistry procedure that is taking the UK by storm – The Inman Aligner. This revolutionary concept sees protruding or crowded teeth transformed in a matter of weeks!

So how does it work?

Clear alignersThe Inman Aligner is a clear plastic retainer with two spring loaded aligning bars that fit easily over the front four teeth. Unlike a regular brace, the Inman Aligner provides a constant gentle pressure on the teeth, easing them back into place far more quickly.
Apart from its aesthetic benefits, the Inman Aligner is easy to use and can be inserted and removed at any time, allowing eating, brushing (and kissing) to continue as normal. Once teeth have moved to the desired position, a very discreet retainer holds them in place, so they remain in their new position.
During the first consultation, an impression is made of the teeth and in the second, teeth are smoothed to make room for movement and the aligner fitted. For the duration of the treatment bi-weekly visits are required to review and adjust the aligner.
Dr Fayaz Ladak: “The Inman Aligner is the greatest innovation in dentistry of recent years. It’s fast, affordable and kind to teeth. It really is the best way to straighten crowded front teeth.”

Remove unsightly silver metal or old white fillings and replace them with tooth coloured fillings for a whiter smile.

If the decay is not too serious, our cosmetic dentist will remove all the decay and restore the tooth with a white (tooth coloured) filling.

We can safely replace silver amalgam fillings with white tooth coloured fillings.

Dental decay happens when the enamel and dentine of a tooth become softened by acid attack, producing a cavity (hole).
